David J to release new cinematic interpretation of ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ on Halloween

SONY DSCThis is either going to be amazing, or a complete disaster… time will tell…

Former Bauhaus bassist David J will treat fans this Halloween to “an exquisite new cinematic interpretation” of the band’s iconic song “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” a new remake he’s releasing that’s called “Undead is Forever” and which will feature “signature post-classical piano” from Jill Tracy and an excerpt of Lord Byron’s vampire poem “The Giaour.”

The recording, credited to David J with Jill Tracy, is set to be released at davidjonline.com at “1 minute past the Witching Hour” on Oct. 31, according to an announcement posted on the site.

“Undead is Forever” also features “Ysanne Spevack on eerie antique autoharp, banshee violin and ‘bride of Dracula’ backing vocals, Kenny Annis on seismic rumbling contrabass and Randy Odell on ghost whisperer drums, this dark melancholic exploration was recorded live by candlelight in a single take.”
